Pocket a 4GB flash drive for $17.49 shipped

(Credit: PQI)

You young'uns won't remember this, but there was a time when a 4GB flash drive cost hundreds of dollars. Literally hundreds! Now you can scoop one up for a mere $17.49, and you won't even have to pay for shipping.

As you can see from the photo, the PQI 4GB Cool Drive comes in pink--nothing a can of spray paint can't fix (unless, of course, you like pink). PQI supplies a bunch of preloaded mobile software, including unnamed browser, "doc," and e-mail applications. (Obviously you can ditch this stuff if it turns out to be crapware.) My only real complaint is that the drive doesn't appear to be keychain-friendly. Still, that's an awful lot of mobile storage for an awfully low price.

Micro-Center has 4gb Flash drives for $19 in-store, $21 online (not sure why it's that way...), and it's NOT PINK! It's actually a bad-ass Black color!

The same website has at least three different models for 8GB USB flash drives between 30 to 32 dollars. One even has free shipping in the U.S. Too bad I am overseas.

I'd buy it for a buck.

You get what you pay for. 17 bucks = 17 day product life.
