T-Mobile has a Blast

(Credit: Mobiledia)T-Mobile announced today that it is offering the new Samsung Blast. Also called the SGH-T729, the Blast offers an attractive slim slider design in a red-and-black color scheme. Onboard, you'll find Bluetooth, a speakerphone, a MicroSD card slot, and a 1.3-megapixel camera.
Despite the lack of high-end multimedia features, that's not a bad offering, yet its most noteworthy feature is the SureType keyboard taken straight from some members of the RIM BlackBerry family. The addition of the keyboard means that messaging and e-mail features are a focus of the Blast. Though I can't imagine that typing a long e-mail really counts as "having a blast," by any measure.
The SGH-T729 is the second Samsung phone after the SGH-T719 to offer a SureType keyboard, though it does not come with the Blackberry Connect e-mail service. Check back today for our full review of the phone.
