New 13-inch Dell laptop leaked

It's getting pretty hard to keep a secret these days, especially when it comes to laptops. Eagle-eyed bloggers already managed to rain on the Santa Rosa parade in early May, and we've since seen leaked laptops from Sony and Lenovo.

The latest unplanned product announcement comes from Dell, where Engadget has managed to get their hands on some promo literature for the upcoming Dell XPS m1330, a new 13-inch laptop. Purported highlights include:

  • 13.3-inch LED backlit screen
  • 32GB SSD hard drive
  • WWAN (Verizon, Sprint, or AT&T)
  • 802.11n Wi-Fi
  • HDMI output
  • Slot-loading DVD drive

The real highlight of the XPS m1330 is its small size, even for a 13-inch laptop. It weighs around 4 pounds and is super thin, going from 0.87 inch in the front to 1.33 inches in the rear. No pricing or availability info has been released (or leaked) yet, so stay tuned for more details on this impressive-looking system.

A thinly veiled commercial for Dell

Another example of CNET serving as a commercial mouthpiece for Dell. Do you really expect us to be fooled by the leak excuse? When does something that is not out yet deserve an "impressive" moniker.

I don't understand why you would attack someone on a hardware review site for giving their opinion about how this system LOOKS. What exactly is NOT impressive about the specs listed? "stay tuned for more details on this impressive-LOOKING system" I don't get it. Where did they cross the line here? It looks like you're the one with the agenda.

Do you guys really think that CNET has a beef against people leaking information? They just talk it up as "sinking ships" 'cause, for those companies, it's a similar feeling I'm sure. It's all for our entertainment, enjoy it.
