No, it's not a Halloween mask

Toshiba's gaming helmet

Upon first glance at this photo on Engadget, we thought it was the result of some horrible accident. Or maybe a Photoshop prank. Either way, it's worth the price of admission.

The U.K.'s Daily Mail reports that this new device from Toshiba "enables the wearer to experience a full 360-degree view on a 40-centimeter dome-shaped screen." It does not explain, however, how to keep your skull from imploding inside this frightening thing.

The fact they used a kid for the ad hopefully means 1 thing: This Darth Vader helmet is light!!! The first thing that came across my mind when I saw the image was: "How could you play with that thing over your head without getting neck cramps?" Then I realized it was a kid, and it has to be lightweight. One way or another, it may look frightening, but if this will give us the best Virtual Reality feel, then I definatly want one.
